Phase coating in the Barska Naturescape 12-36x50mm Water Proof Spottingscope AD11104 results in maximum resolution and optical quality by correcting or "phase shifting" the light that is reflected off the prisms and optimizing it for the aperture size of these Range finding Scopes made by Barska.
